A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
